The Nitty-Gritty: Heat and Power
It all comes down to infrared radiation. When we’re figuring out the right lamp for your setup, we look at the voltage and wattage to nail the heat flux. If you cram more wattage into a shorter tube, you get higher power density. That means your ramp-up time drops—which is great for speed. But here’s the catch: just make sure your wiring and power supplies can handle the extra amperage. You don’t want to fry your equipment just to save a few seconds.
Built to Last (and Fit)
We use high-purity quartz glass because it handles thermal shock without cracking. Depending on what you’re heating, you can go with clear tubes or coated ones. The coated version shifts the light spectrum so your material actually absorbs the heat better. And don’t worry about a massive teardown. We use standard R7s or Sk15 connectors. They just slide right in.No rewiring your entire rack, no fancy adapters, no drama.
The Trade-off
Here is the honest truth: if you push these lamps to their absolute limit to shave a couple of seconds off your cycle, the filament is going to feel it. You’ll get your speed, but the lamps won’t last as long. The sweet spot is balancing your temperature set-point with the rated wattage. It keeps your throughput high but keeps you from having to replace lamps every five minutes. We’re fine with any benchmark you throw at us. If our heaters don’t match or beat your current setup in the real world, we’ll take the hit.
