If you need heat—and you need it now—these 800W, 220V lamps are your best bet. We built them for those moments where you can’t afford to wait around for a slow warm-up. The secret is the halogen cycle inside the quartz. It lets the filament run much hotter than your average tungsten bulb. Instead of just heating up the air around the lamp, the heat actually punches through and hits your target material. It’s a huge difference in efficiency. A quick word on the power side of things. Since these hit hard at 800W, you’ve got to keep your power supply steady. If you get a sudden voltage spike, you’ll fry the filament. Simple as that. I always suggest using a PID controller or a thyristor. It lets you ramp up the heat gradually. Why? Because quartz glass hates “thermal shock.” If you blast it from cold to scorching in a millisecond, it might crack. Treat it gently, and it’ll last. Why go with clear quartz? Some lamps have coatings that bounce heat back toward the filament. Not these. These are clear, meaning the radiation travels in a straight line. This is a lifesaver if you’re working in a tight space where the lamp is sitting right up against the workpiece. Plus, that halogen gas does a great job of keeping the glass clean. It stops the tungsten from evaporating and clouding up the bulb, so your beam stays sharp for the long haul. Putting them to work. You’ll see these all over the place—PET blowing, plastic welding, drying lines. You’ll know they’re working the second you flip the switch because they glow bright. But be careful. These things getinsanely hot. If you place them too close to anything organic, you’re going to scorch it. Make sure your housing has a solid heat shield to protect the rest of your gear. And please, don’t forget the ventilation. If you run these continuously without airflow, your sockets might actually melt. Not a great look.
