Here’s the thing about these lamps: they’re built for a specific kind of punch. A typical unit runs at 2500W, powered by a 400V supply. That’s not by accident. It’s a deliberate choice that lets a compact 300mm tube pump out enough infrared energy to keep pace with a fast-moving conveyor line. The size matters, too. The shorter tube concentrates the heat into a tight spot, so you’re hitting the part exactly where you need to. No wasted energy. Just focused, efficient heat that doesn’t spill over onto the surrounding equipment.
Built to Last, Built to Work
Inside, you’ve got a halogen-filled quartz tube. That halogen cycle keeps the filament stable, which means the brightness stays consistent over time. No more watching the light fade or seeing that blackening that plagues standard bulbs. The quartz envelope is tough, too. It handles the shock of rapid on/off cycles without cracking, so you can flip the lamp on and off as you need to, without worrying about it giving out. And for the connector? We went with an R7s. It’s a solid, double-ended base that makes installation a no-brainer. It’s a direct drop-in for most industrial fixtures. Just align, seat, and lock. Done.
Curing Paint, Not Guessing
When it comes to paint curing, the short-wave infrared output is where the magic happens. It zeroes in on the paint layer, bringing it up to cure temperature in seconds. That means faster line speeds and lower energy use for each part. But, and this is important, you need control. The heat is intense, so you have to match the lamp’s output to your line speed and the shape of the part. You’ll tweak the distance and the dwell time to make sure thin materials don’t get scorched.
