Here’s the thing: to get those pentane blowing agents to actually expand, you need heat—and you need it now. That’s why we go with short-wave infrared. It doesn’t just sit on the surface; it punches right into the polymer. It’s fast. Really fast. You can tweak the voltage and wattage to keep up with how fast your line is moving. But a word of warning: if you’re running a high-wattage setup,don’t skimp on the cooling fans. If you do, you’ll end up with a warped housing, and that’s a headache nobody wants.
Why the Quartz Matters
The quartz envelope is the unsung hero here. It takes the brutal heat of the filament without flinching or reacting chemically. Inside, that halogen gas is constantly pushing tungsten back onto the filament. It’s what keeps the lamp humming along under a heavy load for a long time. One pro tip: check your connectors. Making it Work on Your Line
We usually drop these lamps into the pre-heating zones. The goal is to get the beads to the perfect temperature before they even hit the molding chamber.
