These aren’t your average light bulbs. We built these 2kW lamps specifically for when you need high-intensity infrared heat—fast. They’re designed to slam energy directly into your target surface without wasting time. The power side of things At 2kW, these things put out a serious amount of heat. You’ll want to double-check your wiring and power supply. If your cables can’t handle the current, you’re going to see voltage drops, and that’s a headache nobody wants. The best part? There’s almost no lag. You flip the switch, and the heat is there. Just a heads-up: if you’re installing a whole bank of these, make sure your control system can handle the total wattage. You don’t want to be tripping breakers every ten minutes or melting your housing. Why the gold and quartz? Here’s the secret sauce: we put a gold-reflective coating on the back of the quartz. Instead of the heat escaping out the rear, the gold bounces it forward. It basically doubles the heat hitting your workpiece. Then there’s the quartz glass. It’s tough. It handles extreme temperature swings without cracking. Plus, we use a halogen cycle to keep the tungsten filament from evaporating and gunking up the glass. Without that, the tube would just turn black and burn out. With it, you get a steady, clean output for a lot longer. Getting them installed We kept the footprint standard, so these usually slide right into your existing setup. It’s a quick swap. But—and this is a big but—wear gloves. Seriously. If you touch the quartz with your bare hands, the oils from your skin stay on the glass. Once the lamp heats up, those oil spots create “hot spots” that can make the whole tube shatter. Not a great way to start the day. One last thing to keep in mind The heat density is incredible, but it’s powerful. If you place the lamp too close to your target, that intense shortwave radiation can actually eat through certain plastics or ruin your coatings. Just take a second to dial in your reflector angles. You want the heat on the work, not baking the ends of the lamp.
