Let’s talk about our 870mm 2500W Shortwave IR Lamps
If you’re dealing with heavy thermal loads, you know the struggle of waiting for things to heat up. That’s why we built these 870mm quartz halogen lamps. At 2500W, these things are powerhouses. They work on shortwave infrared, which is a fancy way of saying the heat jumps straight to your material. It doesn’t waste time heating up the air around it first. It just hits the target. Hard. The power and the footprint An 870mm tube gives you a wide area to work with, and that 2500W rating ensures the heat is dense and consistent across the whole length. It’s fast. Really fast. And that changes everything for your pre-heat times. But here’s the thing: because we’ve packed so much power into a slim quartz tube, the heat flux is aggressive. You can’t be sloppy with your setup. Make sure your reflectors are polished and lined up perfectly. If they’re off, you’re basically throwing a huge chunk of that 2500W right into your machine frame instead of your product. Why quartz and halogen? We use high-purity quartz because, frankly, the internal temperatures are brutal. Regular glass wouldn’t stand a chance. Plus, we use a halogen cycle. This stops the tungsten filament from evaporating and sticking to the walls of the tube. You know that “blackening” you see in cheap lamps? We’ve fixed that. The tube stays clear, and the heat stays consistent for thousands of hours. Getting them running (and a few warnings) These are usually easy drop-in replacements for PET blowing ovens or industrial drying lines. Wiring is simple enough. Just don’t try to save a few bucks on your cabling or contactors. A 2500W draw is no joke; use the right gear. And a word of caution: this much intensity can be a double-edged sword. It hits the target fast, but if your conveyor is moving too slowly, you’ll scorch your plastics in a heartbeat. You’ll want a precise PID controller to keep things under control. Also, check your cooling fans. If they aren’t built to handle the ambient heat these tubes kick off, your lamp sockets are going to fry way sooner than they should.
