Look, these aren’t your average “cozy” heaters. We built these 1500W lamps for one reason: raw, intense heat. We’re talking about shortwave infrared radiation that hits your target in seconds. It’s fast. Really fast. The guts of the thing Inside, there’s a tungsten filament wrapped in quartz. Now, the “halogen” part is the secret sauce here. It stops the tungsten from evaporating and gunking up the glass. That keeps the tube clear and means the lamp actually lasts. One heads-up: your power supply needs to be rock solid. If you get a voltage spike? Boom. Filament’s gone. Getting the heat where it belongs We use quartz glass because it doesn’t soak up the heat—it lets it pass right through. This is great because the energy goes straight into your workpiece instead of just heating up the air around it. Depending on what you’re running—maybe an industrial oven or a PET blowing machine—we use R7s or SK15 connectors. They’re designed to just slide right in. But please,make sure the fit is tight. A loose connection creates a hotspot, and before you know it, you’ve melted your socket. Real-world warnings You’ll usually see these in automotive paint curing or PET preform heating because they penetrate deep into the material. But there’s a catch. Because they pump out so much energy, they get scorching hot, fast. If you don’t have a decent cooling fan or a heat sink on the housing, you’re going to warp your reflectors. Check your airflow before you wire everything up. If the ends of the tube get too hot, the seal can fail and the lamp will pop. And one last thing:don’t touch the glass. Even a few fingerprints on the quartz create stress points. It sounds minor, but that’s often why lamps fail way sooner than they should. Keep them clean, keep them cool, and they’ll do the job.
